Mr. Lemuel's classroom recently went furniture shopping in the community. They enjoyed learning about all the options and price comparison. A day in the community wouldn't be complete without enjoying a delicious lunch, family style. This was a great opportunity for our adult students to learn shopping and social skills!
Basketball is in full swing at HPS. Huron ISD has provided great competition for our Huskies team. Staff vs Student and Unified Champion games were also great to watch. The next game for our team is today at 12:30pm vs Huron ISD.
Here is a long overdue house update! Our Construction students have been hard at work and learning lots of new skills. They have now shifted their focus to the interior of the house...you can look forward to a peek inside with our next update!

Congratulations to our Work Place Readiness winners for the month of January! These students have shown outstanding performance in their respective programs this month. We are proud of you all!
January was a busy and fun month at HPS! Our students participated in the Bowl-A-Thon to raise money for Special Olympics. Students also worked very hard learning job skills and cooking skills. Thank you to Vassar Building Center, one of our community partners, for providing our students with an opportunity to improve their skills. Stay tuned for February updates.
At the TTC we celebrate Career & Technical Education (CTE) every day, but did you know February is officially CTE Month?!?!?!? A whole month to celebrate our students, instructors, programs, alumni and all things CTE? YES, PLEASE! Stay tuned for posts all month highlighting CTE and the ways we celebrate it!

Two new sleds were purchased for our students at HPS. These awesome sleds provide some great winter fun for students needing more support to sled safely.

Mrs. Gruber's classroom enjoyed a day exploring in Frankenmuth. They sent out some very important letters and even got to meet a super fun fella!
The Annual Winter Concert performed by the vocal and chime choirs was today. Family, friends and community members were treated to cheerful holiday music. Our students showcased all their talents.
The HPS Holiday Huskies, along with the vocal and chime choirs, know how to spread holiday cheer! On Friday, they treated the students of McComb and Kingston Elementary Schools with a holiday performance to remember.
Highland Pines School has lots of holiday spirit! Our tree was decorated with ornaments made by our students, the seniors had the honor of lighting up the tree and everyone was treated with performances by our own Holiday Huskies! The fun also included singing holiday songs and a special appearance by someone very special!
The Fun Club at HPS really knows how to boost staff morale. The soup cook off was deliciously fun and staff enjoyed the thirst quenching surprise passed out by the principals.
HPS celebrates students with good behavior! On Friday a glow party was had for all students with good behavior for the month of October. This month students are working towards making a fun craft with the principals.
Science is fun at HPS! Recently our students learned about chemical bonding and made fluorescent worms. They also learned about gravity with a marble activity. Our staff is great at engaging students during lessons!
The students at HPS were treated with a fantastic performance by the Cass City Marching Band. Their glow number was very enlightening and our students and staff loved it!
And to round out our busy week, we give our attention to some of our Agriscience students as they attended the National FFA Convention in Indiana. The smiles in the photos should give a good indication of how successful the trip was!
