Lots of learning about siding, shingles, and insulation took place in Construction class during March! The drywall was delivered today and is being installed as we speak...sneak peek of the inside coming soon!

The TTC recently had two outstanding instructors recognized for their years of service as advisors of their respective student organizations. Mrs. Olson was presented an award at the DECA State Conference for her 20 years as the TTC DECA advisor. Ms. Schuette was presented an award at the Business Professionals of America Conference for her 25 years as the TTC BPA advisor. We are so fortunate to have dedicated instructors like these two working with our students on a daily basis!

Several of Ms. Schuette's Computer Technology Management students traveled to Grand Rapids this past weekend to compete at the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference. The TTC walked away with two state champions. Drake Smith of Cass City placed first in Server Administration Using Microsoft and Mayville's Ashton Maize took first in Linux Operating System Fundamentals. In addition, Drake placed second in Computer Network Technology, Emma Vudures placed second in Computer Security and Digital Communications & Design and third in IT Concepts and Robert Krueger of Cass City placed seventh in both Business Spelling and Network Administration Using Cisco. All four of these students have qualified for Nationals which will take place in California! We are so proud of them!

Chef Zehnder took 13 of his Culinary Arts students to Kalamazoo the past couple of days to compete at the Michigan ProStart Sate Competition. The TTC Restaurant Management team (Daniel Sanders and Kailey White) took 3rd place for their restaurant design concept and critical thinking analysis. They also earned $9,500 in scholarships to a variety of colleges including MSU and the Culinary Institute of America.
The TTC's Culinary Arts team (Celeste Riggs, Jacob Middaugh, Alexander Jones, Hailey Walker, and Alexander Miller took 5th place out of the 13 teams competing.
The TTC was also represented extremely well by students who competed in Knife Skills, Cake Decorating, and Pasta. Way to go, Culinary students! You make us very proud!

Our Nursing students are hosting a blood drive today and the turnout has been great so far!

Here is a long overdue house update! Our Construction students have been hard at work and learning lots of new skills. They have now shifted their focus to the interior of the house...you can look forward to a peek inside with our next update!

Congratulations to our Work Place Readiness winners for the month of January! These students have shown outstanding performance in their respective programs this month. We are proud of you all!

At the TTC we celebrate Career & Technical Education (CTE) every day, but did you know February is officially CTE Month?!?!?!? A whole month to celebrate our students, instructors, programs, alumni and all things CTE? YES, PLEASE! Stay tuned for posts all month highlighting CTE and the ways we celebrate it!

Mr. Bartolowits and his Electronics students have officially moved into their new lab. Check out the great space!

And to round out our busy week, we give our attention to some of our Agriscience students as they attended the National FFA Convention in Indiana. The smiles in the photos should give a good indication of how successful the trip was!

Some of our Culinary students had the opportunity to travel to Novi for ProStart Bootcamp. Students made their way through 8 different stations learning about various competitions. Lots of fun and learning was had!

Next up is the HOSA MSU Osteopathic Medicine Day! Two of our Nursing Careers students, Bonnie from Caro High School and Abby from Akron-Fairgrove High School got to attend this prestigious event and be side-by-side with OD med students as they learned some skills. What a great experience!

TTC students and staff were all over the state (and one out-of-state) last week! We have so many trips to tell you about.
To kick things off, we will start with our Marketing & Business Management crew. Tuscola DECA members received two days of training which included meeting at East Lansing Marriott Followed by a keynote speaker and training sessions at the Broad College of Business at MSU. All of our members behaved professionally and learned new skills which will benefit them as future business people.

Have you ever cooked with jet fuel??? Chef Zehnder and these five Culinary Arts students can now say they have! Yesterday they traveled to Kalamazoo where they partnered with the Michigan National Guard to prep and serve in mobile response kitchens for over 800 people. This event was sponsored by the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association. What an incredible and unique experience!

This morning at the TTC we welcomed some special guests! The superintendents from all 9 of our local districts came to enjoy breakfast prepared by our Culinary Arts students followed by a tour of some programs of their choosing. These tours were not your average observation tours...our superintendents dug in and got their hands dirty to truly experience what their TTC students are doing here every day. Thank you to each of our superintendents for making their TTC students a priority during this very busy time of year! We appreciate you!

Last night the annual Fall Advisory Committee Dinner took place at the TTC. We were honored to host nearly 100 individuals who support our programs in a variety of ways. Thank you to all of our advisory committee members for your dedication to our students.
⭐️⭐️⭐️Special congratulations to our award winners⭐️⭐️⭐️
